Brooke Lorenzen, ARNP, a nurse practitioner with Methodist Physicians Clinic, developed an interest in cardiology as a teenager, after receiving an ultrasound of her heart for an innocent heart murmur.

Getting to know patients outside of their health challenges has become one of the best parts of her job, she said. And working for Methodist has only solidified her passion for her profession.

She strives to make each of her patients feel as though they're at home, too, by providing The Meaning of Care: "I believe in using respect, compassion and quality communication to build relationships and provide my patients with the knowledge and tools to improve their health."

When she's not helping patients navigate cardiac conditions – or empowering them to take ownership of their health ñ Lorenzen enjoys golfing, volunteering and spending time with her family.
