Dr. Bendorf is board-certified in General Surgery. He earned his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University and his medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He completed his General Surgery residency at Mercy Catholic Medical Center. He is a member in the Iowa Medical Society and the Iowa Medical Political Action Committee. Dr. Bendorf, and his wife Kaci, have three children; two daughters and one son. |

Dr. Windorski is skilled in open surgery as well as minimally invasive laparoscopy and robotic-assisted surgery. Whatever the procedure, he enjoys the difference he can make in a patient's life. "Surgery is a great way of effecting immediate change in a patient's health," he said. "A patient comes in with appendicitis. They hurt. They don’t feel well. I can take them to surgery and get that appendix out, and they generally feel much better when they wake up. I think that's a powerful thing and a very rewarding aspect of being a surgeon." When he's not caring for patients, Dr. Windorski stays busy by spending time with his wife, two children and two dogs. His family especially enjoys cooking and spending time outdoors. |

Pat Ahrens, MD, whose surgical career at Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital began in 2002, is the vice president of medical affairs and chief medical officer for Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital. Born in Pearl City, Hawaii, Dr. Ahrens began his medical career in the 1990s as a general surgeon at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in North Carolina. In 2002, Dr. Ahrens came to Council Bluffs and began serving as a general surgeon at Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital and Mercy Hospital. Dr. Ahrens earned his bachelor's degree at Carroll College in Helena, Montana. He completed his medical degree at the University of Washington in Seattle, and he was a surgical resident at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. He is married and has two children. |
